The Town of Lexington’s Sunset Split is the next phase of the Corley Mill Gateway Project, funded by the Town of Lexington’s local Hospitality Tax.  This project is a continuation of the recently completed US 378 (Sunset Boulevard) and Ginny Lane intersection improvement, and the I-20 West Bound Exit Ramp Improvement Project.  Sunset Boulevard serves as one of the major arteries into the Town of Lexington and has experienced significant growth over the past several years.  Additionally, Corley Mill Road is the primary access road to River Bluff High School, accesses multiple residential developments, and the Lake Murray Dam.

The Town of Lexington’s Sunset Split is the next phase of the Corley Mill Gateway Project funded by the Town of Lexington’s local Hospitality Tax.  This project is a continuation of the recently completed US 378 (Sunset Boulevard) and Ginny Lane intersection improvement, and the I-20 West Bound Exit Ramp Improvement Project.  Sunset Boulevard serves as one of the major arteries into the Town of Lexington and has experienced significant growth over the past several years.  Additionally, Corley Mill Road serves as the main thoroughfare to River Bluff High School, multiple residential developments, and access to the Lake Murray Dam.  The purpose of this project, along with the two previously completed projects, is to improve safety and reduce congestion within the Corley Mill Road and Sunset Boulevard corridor area.

In an abundance of caution related to the COVID-19 State of Emergency, this meeting is being conducted virtually.

 

The purpose of the Virtual Public Information Meeting is to provide the public with an opportunity participate in the design development process of the Town of Lexington’s Sunset Split Roadway Improvement/Realignment Project.  The Virtual Public Meeting site will have features to obtain feedback and to disseminate information about the project to the public.

 

 

The Town of Lexington welcomes you to this virtual Public Information Meeting and appreciates your attendance.  The purpose of this Public Information Meeting is to provide information on The Town of Lexington’s Sunset Split, the next phase of the Corley Mill Gateway Project.  This project builds on the recently completed improvements at the intersection of Ginny Lane and US 378.  The Town of Lexington and the Consultant team welcomes you to this website and encourages the public or any interested organization to provide comments, ask questions, and provide feedback about the project. 

 

The Town of Lexington, along with its Consultant team, will accept comments from August 3, 2020 through August 18, 2020 on the proposed plan and potential impacts for the preferred alternative.  After the conclusion of the Virtual Public Information Meeting and open comment period the comments will be reviewed and responded to.  Comments can also be mailed to Mr. Randy Edwards with the Town of Lexington at 111 Maiden Lane, Lexington, SC 29072.  All comments received will become part of the project record.

Following any additional studies, right-of-way acquisition may begin.  The Town of Lexington, or their designated representative, will contact property owners to verify the information regarding ownership, property lines, and explain how construction of the project will affect their property.  The Right-of-Way Agents will make a written offer based on the fair market value for any property impacted by the project.  Details of the right-of-way acquisition procedures can be requested by contacting the Town of Lexington.
